A Drop to Drink...

Out here on the West Coast, in California, Oregon, and Washington, most of you know we've had a 4-year drought and are suffering the effects of raging wildfires, though about 25% of those are now out or under control.  Still, we are hoping for an El Nino fall and winter which will bring water to the parched land.

So, what does all that have to do with today's card?  This is what most of us out here feel like, waiting for one little drop of water, for the opportunity to quench our thirsts.  LOL  On the other hand, that one drop is a huge mouthful of water for that tiny mouse so maybe it's all how you view it.   In any case, how could I resist an adorable little mousie like this one?  I think this is Monica (from House Mouse) but they do tend to all look alike so who really knows?

I was inspired by the colors in the
inspiration photo at Sketchy Colors.
Unfortunately, all my lilac/purple tones turned blue in the photograph.

House Mouse image colored with ProMarkers and chalk markers, papers from Stampin' Up, and ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I don't know if I'll have anything else before Friday but do check back then for my QKR Stampede DT card.  New challenge and new theme which you should enjoy.  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

Hi NC sorry to hear about all the problems you are all having with the drought and wildfires. Living in the Lake District UK we are always complaining of the weather, usually rain, and living near a river that is prone to flooding it can get a bit hairy at times, but, I would rather have the rain than to suffer they way you all are.

Thank you so much for the wonderful words you always leave on my blog. They are very much appreciated.

I love your card. The image and colours are gorgeous.

We had so much rain back in May and really thought the drought was finally over for us....haven't seen that one little drop since though! I do hope y'all start getting rain soon Connie as I know it's just been miserable without it there.
I'm thinking that one drop will fill up this cute little guy! Such a precious and pretty, pretty card!

I pray the drought ends soon for you all. The photo may not have gotten the purple tones right, but it's still beautiful!

I do hope your weather improves soon, it has been a bad year for fires. We are so lucky to have had some rain with our hot days, but a little cooler today - sweater weather - but nice.
Love your card with the little mouse I was looking for purple, but the blue does look nice with the bright green! And of course your pretty bow
and ribbon are the perfect embellishments!

I'm so sorry about the rain. We had the rain/drought problem about 4 years ago. We have had a good year for weather and rain. This card of yours is precious. My first stamp was a House Mouse. I bought the CD of House Mouse, but haven't had time to use it. Things have quieted down a little so I hope to jump in and due projects I have had to put off.
